Henry Thierry officially crowned IGWE in Lagos, Nigeria

The Arsenal football legend, Henry theirry, who is popularly called Igwe by his Nigerian fans has officially received the title.

henry theirry Thierry Daniel Henry is a retired French professional footballer who played as a forward and is the second assistant manager of the Belgium national team.

Henry theirry was unveiled as an ambassador for the Made of Black campaign, he wore an Igbo regalia and a royal crown was placed on his head with fans cheering ‘Igwe!’.

He is currently in Lagos Nigeria for ‘Watch a Match with Henry Thierry’, an event put together by Guinness Fanzone.

Apart from receiving the honorary title, the retired footballer also partook in the cooking of jollof rice.

Henry later recognised and praised a one-legged footballer whom he described as “the real Igwe”.

The one-legged footballer told Henry that despite losing his leg, he relocated to Lagos and still managed to achieve his dream of playing football.

It was an exciting event for the die-hard arsenal fans and for all soccer enthusiast in attendance.
